Our Environmental Services team seeks a Dutch speaking Environmental Consultant for the Ghent office. The role supports contaminated soil investigation, remediation, risk assessments, and remedial design for international private sector clients.

The successful candidate performs environmental oversight of remedial works under project manager supervision. Key tasks include controlling remediation contractor performance, coordinating field subcontractors, and collecting soil and groundwater samples. Daily and regulator reporting for the Flanders region is essential, along with coordinating laboratory analysis.

Work in a dynamic team undertaking diverse projects in Belgium and abroad. Compile and interpret field data into conceptual site models, conduct desk studies, site investigations, and report writing. Ensure health and safety throughout project lifecycles in a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Master or BSc degree in Geology, Geography, Bio Engineering or another technical, environmental or chemical field
  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills both written and verbal
  • Confidence with client communication and customer focus
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills
  • Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work
  • Able to work both independently and in teams
  • Valid driver license for a car
  • Strong commitment to AECOM’s health and safety culture and willingness to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental oversight of remedial works on site under project manager supervision
  • Control performance of remediation contractor works with respect to the remedial action plan
  • Coordinate field service subcontractors and supervise ground investigation works
  • Collect soil and groundwater samples and data during assessment and remedial activities
  • Conduct daily reporting and regulator reporting for the Flanders region
  • Coordinate with laboratories for appropriate analysis within project timelines
  • Compile and interpret field and analytical data into conceptual site models
  • Undertake desk studies, site investigations, laboratory procurement, data analysis, and report writing
