About this role

Barr is seeking a senior hydrogeologist to join one of our Minnesota offices for challenging hydrogeology projects. In this hybrid role, you will apply hydrogeology skills on water supply evaluations, remediation of contaminated groundwater, mine planning and development, and groundwater-surface water interactions. Responsibilities include conceptual site model development, numerical modeling, and aquifer test analysis.

You will work individually or as part of a project team on sustainability analysis and reporting, with opportunities for supervising project teams. Fieldwork may be available, requiring some out-of-town travel. Manage complex projects across field and office settings while balancing multiple priorities.

They are adaptable, organized, and proactive, bringing advanced technical expertise and sound professional judgment. They ensure quality of project deliverables and take ownership of client-facing work.

Requirements

Advanced hydrogeology and geoscience expertise
Strong knowledge of the geology and hydrogeology of the Upper Midwest
Clear and confident communicator who builds strong working relationships
Leadership within multidisciplinary teams
Adaptable, organized, and proactive in managing complex projects
Sound professional judgment ensuring quality and accuracy of deliverables

Responsibilities

Apply advanced hydrogeology and geoscience expertise to design and oversee subsurface investigations, groundwater and soil sampling programs
Lead interpretation of complex data sets to evaluate groundwater flow, contaminant transport, and water sustainability
Provide technical leadership in application of groundwater models for site assessments, remedial strategies, and water supply planning
Direct and coordinate field programs including drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and contractor management
Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to align with client goals and regulatory requirements
Serve as primary client contact, communicating project progress and technical recommendations
Assess complex geologic and hydrogeologic conditions to identify practical, cost-effective solutions
Oversee preparation of high-quality technical deliverables including modeling results and reports
