Dewberry | Hydro is seeking an exceptional Senior Hydrogeologist in the Central Florida Water Market. Position requires a degree in Geology or hydrogeology, with Master’s preferred and 15-20 years of directly related experience. Dewberry is a leading firm with over 50 locations and 2,000 professionals nationwide.
Conduct complex research and provide technical expertise on projects, including independent modeling of groundwater flow systems. Develop and apply complex groundwater flow and hydrologic models using associated programs. Demonstrate expertise in groundwater and surface-water hydrology, quality, and resource management.
Provide recommendations on solutions to complex water management issues and present to policy makers. Manage projects, contractors, specifications, and construction oversight. Handle regulatory agency communications and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
Identify, develop, and manage client solutions while assisting with proposals and relationships. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team planning. Collaborate with top talent on innovative projects at the industry forefront.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology; Master’s preferred
- 15+ years of progressive experience working with regulatory authorities and teams of engineers and scientists
- Working knowledge of hydrogeologic and groundwater flow principles
- Working knowledge of groundwater flow models
- Strong statistical background
- Proficient in technical writing and presentations
- Computer modeling skills including Numerical (FD & FE) modeling, MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, and other regional Florida groundwater models
- Working knowledge of Florida’s hydrogeology and environmental constraints preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct complex research and provide technical expertise on assigned projects, including independent modeling of groundwater flow systems

- Demonstrate expertise in groundwater and surface-water hydrology, groundwater quality, water resource development, management, regulation, and geologic principles
- Provide recommendations regarding solutions to solve complex water management issues and present to audiences including policy makers
- Manage projects and contractors, develop specifications, and oversee construction management
- Identify, develop, and manage the delivery of solutions to clients
- Manage regulatory agency communications
- Assist with writing proposals, maintaining client relationships, junior staff mentoring, and team planning
