About this role

The Wellfield Geologist reports to the Wellfield Manager and monitors well drilling operations while logging necessary data, analyzing water samples, and characterizing the underground structure based on cuttings and observations. This safety-sensitive role assists with wellfield data collection, hydrogeological characterization, and aquifer permit compliance activities. It supports the 24/7 wellfield drilling program through rotating shifts.

Day-to-day duties include observing, monitoring, and recording assigned drilling operations, performing groundwater sampling, and characterizing drill cuttings with geologic observations. The role involves aquifer permit compliance, including wellfield performance monitoring, and assisting with technical report preparation. Other duties arise as required in the field.

Work occurs in a mix of office and outdoor settings under all-weather conditions, requiring physical abilities like standing, sitting, manual dexterity, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Compliance with Florence Copper’s site safety program is mandatory. The position demands effective time management for multiple tasks.

Team collaboration and independent work are essential, with excellent written and verbal communication supporting technical reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office aids data handling. The role offers exposure to wellfield operations in geosciences and earth science exploration.
