About this role

AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Geologist for the Bakersfield, CA office. The role supports Project Managers in planning, oversight of fieldwork, and evaluation of hydrogeologic and reporting phases for multidisciplinary environmental projects. Projects serve large Federal clients, Refineries, and commercial clients.

Daily tasks include managing field-based environmental investigation and remediation programs. Oversee well installation and sampling, while communicating with Project Managers. Handle data management, evaluation, and report writing for investigations and closures.

Interpret data, conduct analyses, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Expect greater than 50% travel time, including driving and overnight stays to project locations. Work flexibly across diverse projects in a global team of nearly 50,000 professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, or geochemistry)
  • 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate
  • Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes
  • Experience with local regulatory agencies

Responsibilities
