About this role

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society’s access to base and precious metals. As a Geologist in Garpenberg you play a key role in ensuring the quality and availability of geological data that supports both production and long-term planning.

You collect, analyze and quality-assure geological data while performing core logging, underground face mapping and drillhole planning. Daily work combines hands-on tasks with digital tools such as Leapfrog, Deswik, AcQuire and WellCAD in a modern mining environment focused on safety and continuous development.

You are part of the Mine Geology Garpenberg team within the Long-Term Planning section. The team of geologists and core shed technicians collaborates regularly with production, drilling and technical support functions to deliver up-to-date geological information.

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience
  • Valid driver’s license (B)
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in the mining industry, exploration or tunnelling
  • Hands-on experience in core logging and mine mapping
  • Experience in drillhole planning, geological modelling and interpretation
  • Knowledge of QAQC and geometallurgy
  • Experience with tools such as Deswik, Leapfrog, WellCAD and AcQuire

Responsibilities

  • Core logging and documentation in systems such as AcQuire and WellCAD
  • Underground face mapping in Deswik Mapping
  • Drillhole planning for infill campaigns
  • Compilation and analysis of geological data
  • Contribute to geological interpretation and modelling
  • Ensure data quality through QA/QC processes
  • Support production and planning with up-to-date geological information
  • Participate in the development of workflows and digital tools
