About this role
Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking a Mine Geologist to join its Island Gold District team in northern Ontario, providing front-line geological support for definition and delineation drilling programs. This role is critical to the success of one of Canada's largest and lowest-cost gold mines, where ongoing exploration success continues to grow Mineral Reserves and Resources.
Day-to-day responsibilities include diamond drill coordination, contractor interface, drill forecasting, and cost tracking, alongside geological and structural mapping of mineralized zones. The Mine Geologist contributes directly to grade control execution and maintains 3D geological models that guide short- to mid-term mine planning and daily production decisions.
Working closely with mine operations, engineering, and planning teams, the Mine Geologist ensures geological interpretations are translated into clear, practical guidance for the underground operation. The role also involves training and mentoring of Geologists-in-Training and entry-level staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Requirements
- B.Sc. in Geology
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a production setting of an underground mine
- Strong communication, computing, planning and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic mining environment
- Analytical skills with a focus on safety
- Ability to work both in office and underground environments
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, job and task observations to ensure compliance to safety standards
- Provide front-line geological support for definition and delineation drilling programs, including diamond drill coordination and contractor interface
- Conduct ongoing geological and structural mapping and interpretation of mineralized zones
- Develop and maintain 3D geological models to support short- to mid-term mine planning
- Make recommendations for additional diamond drilling to improve understanding of the ore deposit
- Understand stope reconciliations, dilution estimates, grade forecasting and grade blending
- Support drill contract management and cost control
- Train and mentor GITs and entry-level geological staff
