Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is committed to a people-first culture and technical excellence. Our Environmental team is looking for a motivated Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our New England group in Boston or Worcester.
In this role, you will participate in a variety of environmental assessment and remediation projects. You will plan and lead field activities with minimal oversight, oversee subcontractors, and author technical reports to ensure quality execution.
You will train entry-level staff and evaluate site data to proactively progress projects toward regulatory closure. The position requires strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements
- 4-8 years of work on environmental assessment and remediation projects
- Experience conducting environmental field investigations and data collection/sampling
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline preferred
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel outside of New England up to 20% of the time
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently as well as in a team environment
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead field activities with minimal oversight
- Engage in field oversight of subcontractors
- Author technical reports and ensure quality execution
- Train entry-level staff professionals
- Evaluate site data to proactively progress projects toward regulatory closure
- Coordinate technical aspects of small to moderate size projects
- Conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support
