About this role
Join AECOM's Geosciences and Remediation Services team in Adelaide as a Contaminated Land Scientist, where you will help clients meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. This role involves working on challenging projects across a range of sectors, with a mix of fieldwork and office work.
You will conduct preliminary and detailed site investigations including preparation, sampling, and reporting, as well as perform due diligence assessments and develop remedial action plans. The position offers the opportunity to work on both local and interstate client sites, collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Requirements
- Relevant experience in contaminated land management, environmental services, or a related field is welcomed; graduates with a demonstrated interest in developing a career in contaminated land are encouraged to apply
- Proficiency in site investigations including sampling for soil, soil vapour, surface water, and groundwater
- Strong communication skills and experience with data management software (ESDAT/Equis)
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, agriculture, or earth science (understanding of core sciences and soils an advantage)
- Ability to work safely on-site and manage subcontractors
- Willingness to work remotely and an open driver's licence and ability to obtain Defence security clearance are essential
- Some regional work will be required as part of this role
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary and detailed site investigations including preparation, sampling, and reporting
- Perform due diligence assessments
- Manage data and produce digital reports
- Develop remedial action plans and site validation reports
- Conduct supervision of sub-contractors and remediation contractors during remediation work
- Work on both local and interstate client sites, collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
