About this role

The Development Geophysicist is part of the GOT Geophysics team. Oil, gas, and condensate are produced from complex fluvial reservoirs with highly variable properties in a densely faulted extensional system. The role involves characterization of asset base, development of asset plans, and forecasting and delivering R2R2P.

Conducts integrated reservoir characterization captured in reservoir maps and models. Performs detailed seismic geologic assessments using attribute visualization techniques and RPFS. Supports new platform and future infill development through the ES work process.

Works projects through Chevron's Well Delivery Process including deviated and horizontal well targeting. Supports drilling operations in 10,000'-15,000’ tvdss deep wells with 2-5 active rigs. Involves detailed seismic interpretation of complex structural areas, velocity analysis, seismic ties, well planning, and data integration.

Operates in a fast-paced, standardized, analogy-based reserves environment. Key contributor to Asset Development Plan, Uncertainty Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, and Opportunity Catalog. Enhances reservoir characterization and drilling efficiency in an actively drilling asset.

Requirements

  • Proficient in detailed seismic interpretation and mapping of complex extensional structures
  • Experienced in velocity analysis, seismic ties, and integration of well logs and seismic data
  • Skilled in development well planning and guiding well operations
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, process-driven actively drilling asset using Petrel
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex issues using data science and data modeling
  • Demonstrates ability to convey concepts and objectives in presentations and technical reports
  • Builds good working relationships and works effectively in multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments
  • Demonstrates relevant leadership behaviors in response to business conditions

Responsibilities
