About this role

Senior Geophysicist (Special Projects) reports to Head Geophysical Studies. Requires specialist knowledge of land seismic acquisition and processing, understanding of current land and marine seismic processing algorithms, time and depth imaging, inversion, fracture and amplitude analysis. Proven experience of carbonate reservoirs, proficient in R5000 software suite, excellent special project management skills, and customer focus.

Provide specialist geophysical service through technical monitoring and QA/QC for internal and externally sourced projects including seismic processing, reprocessing, amplitude/AVO analysis, depth imaging, inversion. Act as linkage between Dukhan subsurface community and geophysical specialists in external technology providers. Deliver technical expertise and advice to Dukhan subsurface teams.

Develop technical specifications and budgeting for special projects with active monitoring to satisfy QA/QC, timing, and budgetary requirements. Serve as single point of contact with third-party contractors, communicate project status, and provide regular technical peer reviews internally. Work efficiently within multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams, mentoring young geoscientists and less experienced staff.

Demonstrate very good skills in presentation and documentation of project results. Communicate effectively with peers, field staff, contractors, and management. Maintain core skills while developing new areas of expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Geoscience, Engineering or equivalent
20 years work experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 15 years conducting geophysical studies/operations
Specialist knowledge of land seismic acquisition and processing
Experience with VSP acquisition and processing
Understanding of current land and marine seismic processing algorithms, time and depth imaging, seismic inversion and amplitude/AVO analysis techniques
Experience in carbonate reservoirs
Proficient in use of current geophysical software applications (e.g., Landmark SeisSpace, Well Seismic Fusion, DecisionSpace, Geoprobe, Hampson Russell)
Excellent project management skills, customer focus, mentoring experience, and ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams

Responsibilities
