Daily tasks include converting as-built data onto the GIS system and creating maps, drawings, and reports for internal and external customers, ensuring quality and turnaround metrics are met. Perform QA/QC checks on spatial edits using Data Reviewer and convert data from various formats into GIS. Maintain GIS databases and track utility information from field surveys and record documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or closely related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro
  • Organizational and Time Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of geodatabases, georeferencing and spatial and attribute data entry and editing
  • Preferred: Python, SQL, or Arcade programming skills
  • Preferred: GPS skills

Responsibilities

  • Convert as-built data onto the GIS system ensuring quality and turnaround time metrics are consistently met
  • Create maps, drawings and reports for internal and external customers ensuring quality and turnaround time metrics are met
  • Provide subject matter expertise, training and fundamental system support on SJI geospatial issues
  • Support the plan, design and implementation of asset integration and migration projects
  • Perform QA/QC checks on spatial edits within GIS utilizing Data Reviewer
  • Convert data to be entered into GIS from a variety of formats
  • Prepare value added project documents and reports
  • Work with existing GIS standards and assist development and roll-out of new procedures
