Daily tasks include converting as-built data onto the GIS system and creating maps, drawings, and reports for internal and external customers, ensuring quality and turnaround metrics are met. Perform QA/QC checks on spatial edits using Data Reviewer and convert data from various formats into GIS. Maintain GIS databases and track utility information from field surveys and record documents.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or closely related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience
Experience with ArcGIS Pro
Organizational and Time Management skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of geodatabases, georeferencing and spatial and attribute data entry and editing
Preferred: Python, SQL, or Arcade programming skills
Preferred: GPS skills

Responsibilities

Convert as-built data onto the GIS system ensuring quality and turnaround time metrics are consistently met
Create maps, drawings and reports for internal and external customers ensuring quality and turnaround time metrics are met
Provide subject matter expertise, training and fundamental system support on SJI geospatial issues
Support the plan, design and implementation of asset integration and migration projects
Perform QA/QC checks on spatial edits within GIS utilizing Data Reviewer
Convert data to be entered into GIS from a variety of formats
Prepare value added project documents and reports
Work with existing GIS standards and assist development and roll-out of new procedures
