Audubon is currently seeking a GIS Developer to join our team. The GIS Developer will excel in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive geospatial solutions using cutting-edge technologies. They will create, analyze, and maintain the spatial data production portfolio across the company.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Account, the GIS Developer processes data collected by field crews, communicates with project teams, and reports progress to the Project Manager. They review and process files and data from field crews on a daily basis. They work closely with field personnel to provide feedback on field data and documentation.

The GIS Developer mentors junior GIS analysts and builds the foundation to Audubon Field Solutions deliverables. They customize and develop GIS viewers for field services and Pipeline engineering, along with management of Change tools. They update and maintain spatial databases with a focus on SQL queries and maintenance queries.

They develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive tasks within the GIS environment. They integrate various data sources including survey data, spatial data, and engineering data into the GIS system. They administer GIS infrastructure and provide technical support to users.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in equivalent field or related work experience
5+ years related experience
Field experience preferred
Experience with Trimble GPS Equipment, Total Station, Level, Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD
Demonstrated software programming and debugging skills
Proficiency in SQL queries for spatial databases
Experience processing data from web services (WMS/WFS)
Knowledge of GIS software customization and automation scripting

Responsibilities

Review and process the files and data from field crews on a daily basis
Work closely with the field personnel to provide feedback and concerns on field data and documentation
Mentor junior GIS analysts
Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise GIS custom applications and data integration solutions
Customize and develop GIS viewers for field services and Pipeline engineering, as well as develop management of Change (MOC) tools
Update and maintain spatial databases with a focus on SQL queries and maintenance queries
Develop scripts and workflows to automate repetitive tasks within the GIS environment
Integrate various data sources into the GIS system, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compatibility
