As part of East Coast growth, we seek Senior Consultants in Contaminated Land Management to lead complex projects in urban, industrial, infrastructure, and resource sectors. Deliver sustainable solutions in land contamination, remediation, and environmental risk management. Bring technical depth, strategic thinking, project leadership, and client engagement.

Manage contaminated land and hydrogeology projects including site investigations, remediation plans, and groundwater monitoring. Lead field work, coordinate subcontractors, and oversee safety and quality on site. Prepare technical reports aligned with NEPM and state regulations while engaging regulators and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, or related field
  • Familiarity with relevant state (QLD/NSW EPA) and national guidelines, including NEPM and ASC NEPM
  • Chartership (e.g., CEnvP Site Contamination Specialist, CPENG) or eligibility highly desirable
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and managing projects or teams
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills with practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Demonstrated understanding of contaminated land legislation and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to clients, regulators, and peers
  • Current Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel, including to remote and regional sites

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver contaminated land and hydrogeology projects, including Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations (PSI/DSI), SAQP, and groundwater monitoring events (GMEs)
  • Develop and implement Remediation Action Plans (RAPs) and Site Management Plans (SMPs)
  • Perform soil, groundwater, and vapour assessments
  • Lead field work as site manager, coordinate subcontractors for drilling, service clearance, client liaison, environmental sampling, safety, and quality
  • Prepare waste classification and disposal advice
  • Manage project delivery from initiation through close-out, including proposal development, budgeting, resourcing, data management, and reporting
  • Assist with or lead engagement with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders
  • Prepare clear and accurate technical reports in line with NEPM (ASC) and relevant state regulations
