About this role
APTIM is seeking a midlevel geologist for a full-time position to work on the Florida Hazardous Waste Cleanup Contract and other programs. The successful candidate will work in the field performing various environmental related tasks and, in the office, compiling data and writing reports. This position will be based in APTIM's Tampa Florida office.
In the field, execute various work scopes related to site assessment such as groundwater, soil and vapor sampling. Perform oversight and guidance for drilling operations and other contractors, along with soil classification and vapor screening with OVA. Document field work in clear and concise manner and photo document as necessary.
Interface with Florida Department of Environmental Protection personnel and other regulatory personnel. Work independently and as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing conditions. Execute software modeling programs such as Surfer and similar software applications.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in geology and have a Professional Geologist license or able to obtain one within two years
- Related work experience of 3 - 8 years recommended
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training certification
- Prior experience or training regarding environmental assessment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills required
- Demonstrated strength and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams, SharePoint Online, etc.
- Willing and able to work in the field and travel to complete work
