About this role
Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Strathcona Resources Ltd. is one of North America’s fastest growing pure play heavy oil producers with operations focused on thermal oil and enhanced oil recovery near Cold Lake and Lloydminster regions. We seek a Senior Geophysicist to join our Lloydminster Conventional team, reporting to the Manager, Geosciences. This role applies geophysical expertise across conventional and polymer flood assets to enhance reservoir exploitation and support drill-location selection.
The Geophysicist conducts high-quality interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic datasets, integrating results with geological mapping. Oversee seismic data processing, reprocessing, and quality-control of stacks and gathers. Provide support for drilling operations, including planning, execution, and real-time geosteering for horizontal and multi-lateral wells.
Collaborate closely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and development engineers to optimize well performance. Serve as on-call operations contact during drilling activities from the Calgary office. Share key learnings and technical insights with the broader team to improve future campaigns.
