Apex is a hydrogeologic and engineering consulting firm focused on water resource evaluation, planning, design, permitting, and construction. Serve out of our Fort Myers or Tampa Bay office under the supervision of a licensed Professional Geologist, starting July-August 2026 timeframe. Assist with development of testing plans, well drilling, aquifer performance tests, data acquisition, report preparation, permitting, and infrastructure design. Direct contractors during hydrogeologic explorations and testing programs.

Requirements
- Minimum of BS in Geology or closely aligned field of study with relevant coursework
- Relevant work experience required
- Geologist in Training (GIT) certification desired
- Knowledge of geologic concepts including sedimentology, stratigraphy, karst systems, aquifer testing, geochemistry, groundwater and surface water monitoring
- Knowledge of the geologic, hydrologic, and soil classification systems
- Knowledge of principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, experimentation, research, and documentation
- Ability to understand project objectives and schedules and meet critical deadlines and budgets
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance and working outdoors in Florida weather conditions
Responsibilities
- Assist staff with development of testing plans, well drilling, aquifer/well performance tests, instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis, report preparation, water resource permitting, and infrastructure design
- Direct contractors during hydrogeologic explorations and testing programs
- Understand technical aspects of hydrogeologic projects and execute projects to meet technical, quality, and scheduling requirements
- Conduct field investigations, sampling, and groundwater monitoring
- Analyze aquifer test data, geochemistry, and stratigraphy
- Prepare technical reports and permitting documents
- Perform surface water and groundwater monitoring
