About this role
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Geologist / Environmental Scientist to join the team. Use the latest technologies and methodologies to perform environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation. Deliver a cleaner, safer planet for customers and future generations.
Perform a variety of geological and environmental tasks in field and office settings. Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling. Supervise drillers, execute projects prioritizing health and safety, and complete detailed field documentation.
Work with exceptional people in an innovative culture valuing people, embracing agility, and fostering growth. Part of the Critical Infrastructure team designing and delivering projects worldwide. Collaborate with project managers, partners, and customers using interpersonal and organizational skills.
Assist in geologic and environmental analyses including hydrogeology and geochemistry. Prepare figures, maps, cross sections, and reports on field work. Provide technical guidance to lower-level staff and ensure projects complete on time and budget.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically 3+ years of related work experience
- Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations
- Perform physical exertion such as extended periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces, and lifting
- Work in adverse weather conditions including hot, cold, rain, and snow
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
- Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field or as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Perform various field and office tasks requiring the application of standard geological and environmental science principles and theories
- Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling
- Perform soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities
- Supervise drillers and other subcontractors
- Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority
- Complete field documentation such as activity hazard analysis forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms
- Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and/or geochemistry
- Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting
