About this role

Field Geologists conduct geological field investigations, including mapping, sampling, and logging. They analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical data. Support mineral, energy, or environmental exploration projects while preparing technical reports, maps, and cross-sections.

Perform various field activities on geotechnical projects, including pile load testing, field electrical resistivity testing, and soil logging. Demonstrate thorough understanding of pile load testing (PLT) procedure. Communicate with team members on project progress and issues that arise.

Work in a combination of office, field, and laboratory environments, often at jobsites outside in all weather conditions or tightly enclosed areas with uneven surfaces. Use computer, telephone, and other office equipment amid frequent interruptions. Position requires offsite travel, typically 75% annually, locally and throughout the United States.

Requirements

  • Experience with data analysis and technical reporting
  • Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, pressure and a variety of field conditions
  • Two years’ related experience
  • Driver’s license
