About this role

Field Geologists conduct geological field investigations, including mapping, sampling, and logging. They analyze rock, soil, groundwater, and geophysical data. The role supports mineral, energy, or environmental exploration projects while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Daily tasks include preparing technical reports, maps, and cross-sections. Perform field activities on geotechnical projects such as pile load testing, field electrical resistivity testing, and soil logging. Demonstrate thorough understanding of pile load testing procedure.

Communicate with team members on project progress and issues that arise. Work in office, field, laboratory, and jobsite environments, often outside in all weather conditions with uneven surfaces. Position requires up to 75% travel locally and throughout the United States.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, pressure, and a variety of field conditions
  • Experience with data analysis and technical reporting
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Two years’ related experience
  • Valid driver’s license
