Comprehensive training enhances geophysical expertise with hands-on experience in multiple survey methodologies. Mentorship from Senior Geophysicists supports development in this rewarding field.
Junior Geophysicists support clients by delivering accurate geophysical surveys and safe site investigations. Tasks include undertaking surveys using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), seismic, resistivity, electrical conductivity, and gravity methods. Download, quality-check, and post-process survey data per project specifications.

Requirements
- Degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication abilities and a professional approach to client interaction
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK
- Commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards in all working environments
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development
- Previous experience or exposure to geophysical survey methodologies (desirable)
- Familiarity with geophysical data processing software (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Undertake geophysical surveys using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), seismic, resistivity, electrical conductivity, and gravity methods
- Download, quality-check, and post-process survey data in accordance with project specifications and timelines
- Operate and maintain geophysical survey equipment to industry standards
- Support site investigations across the UK, with flexibility for overnight stays and extended travel
- Adhere to SOCOTEC Health & Safety protocols and maintain safe working practices on all site assignments
- Complete mandatory training modules and develop technical competency across all survey equipment
