GSI Water Solutions is seeking an energetic and motivated Early-Career Hydrogeologist with strong education and developing technical skills in field work, data analytics, compliance, and documentation. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to join a passionate, high-performing team of professionals making a positive impact in the water industry. Locations include Santa Barbara or Morro Bay, CA.

Early-Career Hydrogeologists work closely with mid- and senior-level project managers to provide essential technical support in data collection, data analysis, reporting, and collaborative problem solving related to water resources and water supply development. They conduct hands-on field investigations and drilling activities while coordinating contractors, laboratories, and vendors under senior staff guidance. Accurate records of field observations and laboratory data are maintained throughout.

Requirements

  • Strong education in hydrogeology, geology, or related earth science field
  • Developing technical skills in field work for groundwater investigations
  • Developing skills in data analytics for hydrogeologic datasets
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in water resources projects
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
  • Ability to conduct aquifer testing and sample collection
  • Familiarity with drilling oversight and well construction
  • Capability for literature review on geologic and hydrogeologic topics

Responsibilities

  • Collect hydrogeologic data, including aquifer test data and soil, water, and geologic samples
  • Maintain accurate records of field observations, data collection activities, and data from laboratory analyses
  • Write technical field reports and assist in the preparation of technical reports, figures, and graphs
  • Oversee field explorations, drilling activities, and water well construction projects
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication with well owners, laboratories, and other parties
  • Perform routine technical analyses with supervision and oversight
  • Research and review published geologic reports, papers, and literature
  • Participate in project management tasks such as project budgeting and proposal writing
