About this role

We are seeking a Logging Geologist to join our Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line. Under direct supervision, you will provide on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting to the customer. This is an entry-level field position for individuals with little to no petroleum industry experience.

Your daily tasks involve gathering drilled cuttings by depth intervals and managing their transportation. You will keep detailed records of intervals transported and maintain a clean work area. You will learn drilling theory and mud logging techniques, including gas system operations.

You will attend training and complete induction courses to obtain necessary safety and operational certificates required for rig site access. This field-based role operates in a dynamic energy environment alongside experienced drilling professionals.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or Geology.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
  • Successful completion of company tests or task guideline requirements.
  • Entry-level candidates with little to no experience in the petroleum or related industries.
  • Willingness to work at designated rig sites in a field position.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the job for the Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line to provide on-location geological and drilling data collection and reporting.
  • Learn the basics of drilling theory and mud logging techniques and job duties.
  • Gather drilled cuttings by depth intervals.
  • Transport cuttings and keep records of intervals transported.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Attend training and perform on-the-job development activities related to mud-logging, data collection, reporting, and gas system operations.
  • Complete induction courses and training appointments for safety, offshore, or customer-specific certificates.
