About this role

bp has been selected by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to act as the Technical Services Provider (TSP) for the Mumbai High Field, India’s largest and most prolific offshore oil field. As a Geologist in the Mumbai High TSP team, you will play a central technical role in interpreting, integrating, and communicating geological insights that drive reservoir management decisions across the partnership.

In this hands-on technical role, you will deliver high-quality geological inputs to progress prioritised business opportunities, working closely with ONGC counterparts and bp subsurface specialists. You will interpret and integrate core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data to support production management, depletion management, and area development planning.

You will join an agile, fast-paced and exciting integrated team that advises ONGC on opportunities for improving production and recovery from this mature field. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across India and global bp hubs, as well as the Wells organisation and other business units.

This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to shape subsurface solutions for a complex, nationally important asset. The successful candidate will report into a bp appointed leader within TSP, with selection carried out by relevant discipline and function leads.

Requirements

Strong geological fundamentals with the ability to interpret and integrate multiple data types
Experience in hands-on, technical subsurface work for mature fields
Ability to thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary team environments
Motivation to work in an agile, fast-paced setting with high-impact deliverables
Capability to shape and communicate reservoir management solutions to diverse stakeholders
Experience with core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data interpretation

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality geological inputs to progress prioritised business opportunities as an individual technical contributor
Interpret and integrate core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data to support reservoir management decisions
Collaborate closely with ONGC counterparts and bp subsurface specialists across India and global bp hubs
Contribute to production management, depletion management, and area development planning for the Mumbai High Field
Work with multidisciplinary teams, including the Wells organisation and other business units
Identify and implement suitable technological interventions and practices for improving production and recovery from this mature field
Advise ONGC on recovery technologies and practices to stabilize production and reverse decline
