About this role
ProSidian seeks a Geophysicist to provide Independent Engineering Advisory Services supporting technical due diligence and engineering validation for upstream oil and gas exploration and production projects. This role is aligned with the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Programs Office, which provides debt financing for high-impact, large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
The Geophysicist serves within the Technical Due Diligence & Engineering Validation swim lane, delivering bankable, technically defensible Independent Engineering advisory services. Day-to-day work involves converting discipline-specific engineering, construction, compliance, operating, commercial, and risk findings into lender-ready due diligence, monitoring, and certification deliverables.
This position is remote within the USA with expected on-site meetings, supporting clients nationwide. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team of consultants serving public and private, defense and civilian government, and non-profit organizations, with a focus on the energy industry sector.
Successful candidates will contribute to high-impact energy projects through independent engineering validation, helping to de-risk financing decisions for major infrastructure initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to apply geophysical expertise within a consulting framework that directly influences federal energy policy and investment.
Requirements
- Relevant Energy Industry (Oil, and Gas/Power, and Utilities) Sector Experience.
- Functional and technical area expertise in upstream oil and gas exploration and production.
- Experience delivering Independent Engineering advisory services or lender-ready due diligence.
- Ability to convert engineering and risk findings into clear, bankable documentation.
- Experience with risk management solutions for energy infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work remotely within the USA and travel to project sites for on-site meetings as needed.
- Clearance designation: Standard Background Check (contract contingent).
Responsibilities
- Provide services and support as a Geophysicist aligned with Technical Due Diligence & Engineering Validation for Upstream Oil & Gas (Exploration / Production).
- Deliver Independent Engineering advisory services by converting discipline-specific engineering, construction, compliance, operating, commercial, and risk findings into lender-ready due diligence reports.
- Perform technical due diligence and engineering validation for upstream oil and gas exploration and production projects.
- Support professional services engagement for Energy Industry clients such as the U.S. Department of Energy.
- Prepare monitoring and certification documentation for project financing decisions.
- Collaborate remotely with project teams and attend on-site meetings as required across the continental United States.
- Apply geophysical expertise to assess subsurface risk, resource potential, and project viability for upstream oil and gas assets.
