About this role

AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, experienced Geologist for our Baton Rouge office. The successful candidate will support Project Managers in planning, oversight of fieldwork, and evaluation of hydrogeologic and reporting phases for multidisciplinary environmental projects. Projects include large Federal clients, Refineries, and numerous commercial clients.

Manage field-based tasks of environmental investigation and remediation programs. Oversee and lead well installation and sampling tasks while communicating with Project Managers. Handle data management, evaluation, and report writing, including drafting environmental investigation and closure reports.

Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations for compliance. Expect greater than 50% travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays. Work on a multitude of diverse projects with refineries and federal sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline
  • 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Professional Geologist License or Geologist in Training Certificate
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Familiarity with common drilling techniques for environmental work
  • Knowledge of RCRA or CERCLA processes
  • Experience with local regulatory agencies
