Step into a Project Level role in the Sacramento or Concord, CA office with a minimum of 6 years of environmental experience. Participate in and contribute to diverse professional tasks in field and office settings within a team-oriented environment. Take projects from proposal phase through report preparation on challenging remediation projects.

Perform task management on site investigation, remedy selection, and remediation across Northern California. Coordinate with and mentor junior-level staff while leading conversations with private, municipal clients, and regulatory agencies. Communicate effectively with field and construction contractors.

Guide team members in meeting Kleinfelder’s safety and quality standards. Prepare proposals and manage small to medium-sized projects with senior support. Experience professional growth, make a difference, and deliver technically appropriate, cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of related environmental experience (8+ years highly preferred)
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or BS in Geology or related discipline (e.g., Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Geology)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) licensure
  • Collaborative spirit and resourcefulness
  • Prompt geological and engineering judgment and decision making
  • Ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively

Responsibilities

  • Perform task management duties on site investigation, remedy selection, and remediation projects across Northern California
  • Coordinate with and mentor junior-level staff on small to large projects and tasks
  • Lead conversations with private and municipal clients, as well as relevant regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and peer review project deliverables including work plans, reports, remedy selection documents, and presentations
  • Prepare proposals for small to medium sized projects ($50,000 to $250,000) with support from senior staff
  • Manage small to medium sized projects ($50,000)
  • Oversee subsurface drilling investigations to determine presence and extent of impacts in soil, soil vapor, and groundwater
  • Supervise and direct surface and subsurface investigations including soil borings, test pits, well installations, sampling, and aquifer testing
