RESPEC seeks a Field Geologist located in our Tampa or Sarasota, FL, locations. The Field Geologist position typically includes both field and office work. Successful candidates must demonstrate a capability and commitment to conduct field work for extended hours, sometimes under adverse weather conditions. Be willing to stay overnight near the project site if they do not live sufficiently close to allow for daily round-trip travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Engineering (water resource-related), or similar scientific field from an accredited university
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Geologist-in-Training certificate
  • Ability and willingness to regularly work in the field, sometimes for extended periods away from the office
  • Geologic and groundwater field data collection and analysis experience
  • Well drilling oversight, coring, packer, and aquifer performance testing experience
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), ArcGIS, AQTESOLV, STRATER, or similar software

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field work for extended hours under adverse weather conditions
  • Stay overnight near project sites to enable daily round-trip travel
  • Collect and analyze geologic and groundwater field data
  • Oversee well drilling, coring, packer, and aquifer performance testing
  • Write technical reports
  • Prepare regulatory submittals such as Water Use and/or Injection Well permitting
