About this role
APTIM Federal Services seeks a Senior Environmental Geologist to support growth in its Remediation business line. The role requires a credentialed professional geologist or hydrogeologist with proven experience in characterization and remediation projects. Primary responsibilities include planning remedial investigations, implementing actions, and optimizing existing remedies.
Daily tasks involve characterizing geologic conditions, hydrologic character, contaminant types, and distribution to evaluate risks and design remedial measures. Design and execute hydrologic testing to define groundwater aquifers and contaminant fate and transport. Prepare proposals, work plans, and CERCLA reports while supporting project execution per regulations.
Oversee and mentor project staff in a collaborative team environment. Communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to project team members, client representatives, government regulators, and APTIM colleagues. Strong people skills and collaborative demeanor are essential.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related discipline
- 10 to 15 years of experience in the environmental field
- Licensed as a Professional Geologist, preferably in California
- Experience supporting DoD and CERCLA-funded projects
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to travel to project sites
- Core competency in Microsoft Office Products

- Plan and implement remedial investigations, remedial actions, and optimize existing remedies
- Support project planning and execution in accordance with policies, procedures, and Federal/State regulations
- Communicate field results and recommended course of action to project managers, clients, and regulators
- Oversee and mentor project staff while working collaboratively in a team environment
- Prepare proposals, work plans, and complete CERCLA reports
