About this role
As a Senior Engineering Geologist in Aurecon's Transport team based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, you will contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference. In this senior consulting role, you will take greater ownership of your work by guiding investigations, developing ground models for complex geological environments, and helping clients understand and manage ground risk. You will plan and lead complex ground investigations, interpret ground conditions, and lead the development of 3D models.
You will provide ground engineering and ground risk advice, deliver technical reports and geotechnical assessments, and support transport, water, and infrastructure project delivery. The role also involves mentoring junior engineering geologists and field staff, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements
- Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology
- 8+ years' experience within engineering geology consulting and a minimum of 5 years' experience working in Auckland
- Strong capability across investigations, interpretation, and reporting
- Experience leading field programmes and mentoring others
- Experience with GIS, LeapFrog, Rocscience, gINT/OpenGround, or similar
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Chartered status or working toward chartership
- NZ driver licence and strong HSE mindset
