About this role

This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to join the agile, fast-paced integrated team providing advisory on Production Management, Depletion Management, and Area Development Planning to improve production and recovery from oil and gas fields.

As a Geologist in the G&LCE team, you will play a central technical role in interpreting, integrating, and communicating geological insights that drive reservoir management decisions for complex mature fields.

You will work closely with partners, bp subsurface specialists, and multi-disciplinary teams across India and global bp hubs in a collaborative environment suited to strong geological fundamentals.

In bp’s geological and subsurface communities you will coach others, share standard process, and seek to innovate while supporting the vision of an industry-leading hydrocarbons business.

Requirements

Geology or geoscience degree from a recognized university
Strong geological fundamentals for interpreting structural, stratigraphic, and depositional frameworks
Experience integrating well-log, seismic, core, and dynamic data in reservoir management
Ability to characterize subsurface uncertainties and develop risk mitigation plans
Proficiency with digital workflows and data-driven tools for subsurface interpretation

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality geological inputs to progress prioritized business opportunities as an individual technical contributor.
Interpret and integrate core, well-log, seismic, analogue, and dynamic data to develop and refine integrated subsurface frameworks.
Develop appropriate subsurface scenarios to characterize and communicate subsurface uncertainties for fit-for-purpose technical products.
Support base management and reservoir management opportunities to enhance economic recovery from existing infrastructure.
Engage proactively with bp specialists, partners, and cross-disciplinary team members to drive integrated subsurface solutions.
Support adoption of new technologies, digital workflows, and data-driven tools that improve efficiency of subsurface interpretation.
Communicate subsurface uncertainty to colleagues and business leaders to enable appropriate risk management and mitigation plans.
Coach and share standard process within bp’s geological and subsurface communities to solve technical and business problems.
