About this role

Canadian Natural seeks a well-rounded Intermediate to Senior Area Geophysicist with strong technical expertise and exceptional communication skills for the Conventional Exploration team. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals in exploration, exploitation, and production to deliver integrated seismic interpretations supporting oil and gas developments.

Perform high quality interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic volumes integrated with geological mapping and engineering data for reservoir characterization and production optimization. Recommend and manage planning, acquiring, and processing of seismic programs alongside operations teams. Provide geophysical support for drilling and completions including horizontal and multi-lateral wells.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Canadian petroleum geophysics interpretation experience
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Geophysics
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
  • Strong seismic workstation interpretation skills including high proficiency with Seisware
  • Fundamental stratigraphic and structural seismic interpretation skills including modelling, synthetic well ties, horizon and amplitude mapping, time-to-depth conversion, and seismic attribute analysis
  • Demonstrated problem solving, communication, organization, and team leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic volumes integrated with geological mapping and engineering data for detailed reservoir characterization and production optimization
  • Recommend and manage the planning, acquiring, and processing Q.C. of 2D and 3D seismic programs to support the business needs of the asset team
  • Work alongside seismic operations and technical support teams
  • Provide geophysical support to the planning and execution of drilling and completions programs including horizontal and/or multi-lateral wells
  • Integrate seismic interpretations with multidisciplinary data for current and future oil and gas developments
