NOVA Engineering is hiring an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer / Geologist for its Pensacola, FL office. The team works on a diverse range of projects including commercial, industrial, retail, government, transportation, and residential developments. This individual will lead project delivery and client interactions, playing a key role in delivering high-quality solutions.

The role involves leading and managing geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion. Day-to-day tasks include conducting and overseeing special inspections and construction materials testing projects. The engineer reviews and approves technical reports to meet client and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Collaboration is essential—working with project managers and clients to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules. The position provides expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff. Business development activities such as proposal preparation and client presentations are also part of the role, supported by a team dedicated to exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology from an ABET-accredited institution, or an equivalent international degree with NCEES credential evaluation.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or ability to obtain quickly.
  • 4 - 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering is required.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct and oversee special inspections and construction materials testing projects.
  • Review and approve technical reports for geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects, ensuring they meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
