We have an opening for a Geologist/Environmental Scientist in Brooklyn. LiRo-Hill is a top A/E firm providing integrated construction, design and technology solutions. The firm serves clients in both the public and private sectors with a strong track record.

Daily work includes preparation of ASTM-compliant Phase I and II ESAs along with site investigations. You will oversee drilling and excavating contractors while collecting soil, groundwater, and soil vapor samples. Field equipment such as PID meters and water pumps will be used regularly.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field
1-2 years’ experience; entry level candidates considered
Valid Driver's license and car needed for field work
Self-starter with strong analytical and writing skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, reliable and detail oriented
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, Construction 30 HR. OSHA, SWPPP Certification a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare ASTM-compliant Phase I / II ESAs
Conduct site investigations and soil logging
Oversee drilling/excavating contractors and collect soil, groundwater, and soil vapor samples
Use field equipment including PID meters and water pumps
Oversee groundwater monitoring well installations
Implement CAMP and conduct work zone monitoring
Write field activity reports and assist project PMs with summary documents
