About this role
As a Principal Hydrogeologist, you will assist multiple projects with increasing interaction among multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies, and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals advancing mining hydrogeology services across Canada and globally.
Your day-to-day involves supporting Market Sector Leads with strategic growth while developing and implementing business development strategies. You will identify, pursue, and win new project opportunities in the mining and water sectors through client relationships and technical reputation.
The role spans the full mine lifecycle, from designing hydrogeological site investigations and aquifer testing programs to developing dewatering strategies and integrated water balance models using FEFLOW, MODFLOW, MIKE SHE, and GoldSim.
You will supervise and mentor hydrogeologists at all levels while collaborating with geotechnical, geochemical, and surface water disciplines. The position includes representing the company in technical forums, industry associations, and client presentations to deliver lasting environmental impact.
Requirements
- Proficiency with groundwater modeling software including FEFLOW, MODFLOW, MIKE SHE, and GoldSim
- Experience contributing to feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments for mining projects
- Technical leadership across exploration, operations, and mine closure phases
- Ability to maintain project quality through QA/QC reviews and peer review of deliverables
- Experience collaborating across geotechnical, geochemical, surface water, and environmental disciplines
Responsibilities
- Support Market Sector Leads with the strategic growth of Mining Hydrogeology services across Canada and globally
- Identify, pursue, and win new project opportunities in the mining and water sectors through strong client relationships
- Design and interpret hydrogeological site investigations, aquifer testing programs, and baseline water resource assessments
- Develop dewatering and depressurization designs, groundwater flow models, and integrated water balance models
- Lead studies on long-term groundwater recovery, pit lake evolution, seepage control, and water quality risk management
- Provide senior review and technical oversight of hydrogeological studies and modelling assignments
- Supervise and mentor junior, intermediate, and senior hydrogeologists, fostering professional growth
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with mining companies, Indigenous communities, and regulators
