Ramboll seeks a Lead Consultant, Geologist for a hybrid role based in the Blue Bell, PA office. The position supports environmental investigation and remediation projects across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Metropolitan New York. Work centers on geologic and environmental investigation, data evaluation, modeling, and reporting.
Daily tasks include executing site investigations, environmental sampling, and field activities for Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions. The role requires completing accurate field documentation while tracking scope, schedule, and budget for multiple tasks. Geologic support covers soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater remedies including excavation, capping, and in-situ treatment.
The position coordinates investigation tasks with Project Managers, Professional Geologists, LSRPs, and engineers. Responsibilities extend to developing scopes of work, planning sampling efforts, and preparing regulatory reports, work plans, and technical memos. Collaboration occurs within teams of Engineers, Geologists, and Scientists on varied projects.
Mentorship forms a core part of the role, with opportunities to guide Early-Career Geological Scientists. The team emphasizes skill development and career advancement through hands-on project involvement and technical collaboration. Growth comes from expanding capabilities across investigation, remediation, and regulatory deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Geological Science.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental site investigation and characterization.
- Possession, eligibility, or interest in obtaining a PG license and/or LSRP.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and up-to-date training.
Responsibilities
- Execute geologic and site investigations, environmental sampling, and field tasks supporting Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Remedial Designs, and post-remediation OM&M.
- Complete and review detailed field documentation while tracking task activities related to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Provide geologic support for remediation of contaminated soils, sediments, surface water, and groundwater using excavation, capping, containment, and in-situ treatment methods.
- Coordinate geologic investigation tasks with Project Managers, PGs, LSRPs, and engineers.
- Develop scopes of work and implement soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling efforts.
- Prepare technical reports including regulatory submissions, work plans, technical memos, and presentations.
- Serve as mentor to Early-Career Geological Scientists while collaborating with Engineers, Geologists, and Scientists.
