We are growing our Mining team and seeking an Engineering Geologist to support sustaining capital projects and heavy haul rail work across WA. This hands-on role is suited to someone who enjoys field work and delivering practical outcomes on active mining operations.

Day to day, your role includes monthly field work site investigations, logging, mapping, and supervision of drilling programs. You will contribute to geotechnical assessments for slopes, foundations, rail formations and earthworks, and support design inputs for sustaining capital works like pads, roads, rail, and drainage.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, and structural engineers, as well as site stakeholders. This role offers a balance of field work and technical delivery, with exposure to major clients and a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geotechnical Engineering or similar
  • 2–7 years’ experience in engineering geology ideally within mining, infrastructure or rail
  • Strong field capability, comfortable with regular site travel and hands-on investigation work
  • Experience with core logging, geotechnical mapping, and site investigations
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach suited to brownfield and sustaining capital environments
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work with site teams and contractors

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of geotechnical and engineering geology scopes across mining and heavy haul rail projects
  • Conduct monthly field work site investigations, logging, mapping, inspections, and supervision of drilling programs
  • Contribute to geotechnical assessments for slopes, foundations, rail formations, and earthworks
  • Support design inputs for sustaining capital works including pads, roads, rail, drainage, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Perform data collection, interpretation, and reporting to inform project decisions
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (civil, geotechnical, structural) and site stakeholders
  • Manage and monitor technical quality of work and promote a culture of technical excellence within the team
