About this role

J.S. Held is a global consulting firm providing technical, scientific, and financial expertise as trusted advisors to organizations facing high-stakes events. The Environmental Geologist works on low to high complexity, multi-media, multi-contaminant remediations. Responsibilities include planning and implementing field activities, evaluating laboratory data, and preparing technical documents under a Project Manager/LSRP.

Expect approximately 60% time in the field at commercial and industrial sites, coordinating installation of soil borings, overburden and bedrock monitoring wells, and collection of soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion samples. The remaining 40% is in the office interpreting data and preparing remedial documents. Duties are performed individually or as part of a team adhering to project goals, timeframes, and budgets.

Communicate with clients and subcontractors while providing support to Project Managers/LSRPs in technical meetings with NJDEP. Role involves exposure to wet or humid conditions in hot climates, elevated areas requiring fall protection, noisy environments needing hearing protection, and high levels of PPE. A complete physical examination by an occupational physician ensures ability to wear negative pressure respirators and impermeable suits.
