About this role
APTIM is seeking a midlevel geologist for a full-time position to work on the Florida Hazardous Waste Cleanup Contract and other programs. The successful candidate will work in the field performing various environmental related tasks and, in the office, compiling data and writing reports. This position will be based in APTIM's Tampa Florida office.
The role involves executing site assessment tasks such as groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling, along with oversight of drilling operations and contractors. Additional duties include soil classification, vapor screening with OVA, field instrument operation, and photo documentation. Field work must be documented in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities extend to running software modeling programs like Surfer, interfacing with Florida Department of Environmental Protection personnel, and other regulators. The geologist will work independently and as part of a project team, adjusting to changing conditions. This supports APTIM's focus on environmental and resilience solutions for government and commercial clients.
The position transitions into a full-time project management role, offering investment in personal and professional development. Expect work worthy of your time and talent, respect and flexibility for work-life balance, and a voice in improving the company. APTIM aims to enhance environmental quality and community resilience.
