About this role

WSP Italia is seeking a Geologist to join our Development & Remediation Industrial & Commercial Business Unit. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary and cross-national team dedicated to environmental projects in Italy and worldwide. WSP offers world-class expertise in contaminated site management, hydrogeology, risk assessment, remediation design, environmental due diligence and complex industrial projects.

In this role, you will perform environmental tasks requiring a solid understanding of environmental science and remediation engineering principles. Work on specific portions of projects using established methods, supporting technical design, field activities, modelling and coordination. Draft site characterization plans, conceptual studies, remediation reports and tender documents.

Support site investigation campaigns including piezometer installation, drilling supervision, sampling and aquifer tests. Assist in remediation system installation, commissioning, performance testing and O&M. Coordinate with geology, hydrogeology, H&S and permitting teams while supporting project managers on scheduling and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 maximum years of experience as Geologist in environmental consulting
  • Preferably focused on contaminated site investigation
  • Solid understanding of environmental science and remediation engineering principles
  • Experience supporting technical design and documentation for contaminated sites
  • Familiarity with field activities including site investigations and sampling
  • Knowledge of remediation systems such as pump & treat, SVE, air sparging
  • Ability to contribute to risk assessment and contaminant fate & transport modelling

Responsibilities

  • Draft Site Characterization Plans for soil, groundwater, soil-gas, waste, ambient air
  • Prepare Conceptual and Feasibility Studies and project technical deliverables
  • Support calculations, simulations and preliminary analyses for remediation systems including pump & treat, SVE, air sparging, chemical oxidation, bioremediation
  • Support preparation of Remediation Reports, technical specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents
  • Support site investigation campaigns: installation of piezometers, drilling supervision, sampling, soil-gas surveys, aquifer tests
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, performance testing and O&M of remediation systems
  • Contribute to Human Health Risk Assessment and contaminant fate & transport modelling
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary technical teams and support Project Managers with scheduling, project controls and quality assurance
