e-GEOS is a leading international player in the Earth Observation (EO) and Geo-Spatial Information business. The GIS & Remote Sensing Analyst role involves generation of geospatial products mainly based on the analysis and extraction of relevant information from remote sensing data using GIS software. This provides accurate and timely decision support for applications in different fields.

Daily activities include creation of thematic maps, spatial modeling, and integration of data from various sources. Work follows an 8/7 shift rotation to ensure continuous operations. Photointerpretation of optical and SAR data is key to data analysis and interpretation.

The position requires availability for long-term international travel on secondment, which is mandatory. Candidates should thrive in international and multicultural teams with a problem-solving attitude and team working skills. Advanced English (C1/C2) is essential for collaboration.

This expert-level role offers involvement in high-impact geosciences projects at Leonardo's facilities in Rome. Proficiency in GIS tools and remote sensing software supports cutting-edge Earth Observation applications. Opportunities arise from ongoing global EO initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of remote sensing fundamentals
  • Experience in data analysis/interpretation from remote sensing, particularly photointerpretation of optical and SAR data
  • Advanced user-level knowledge of GIS tools (ESRI suite, open-source GIS)
  • Proficiency in software dedicated to processing SAR & Optical images (SNAP, ENVI, etc.)
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Team working
  • Preferential work experience in international and multicultural teams
  • Advanced English (C1/C2)
