Junior Hydrogeologist

The Junior Hydrogeologist supports daily hydrogeology activities related to pit dewatering, open pit and waste dump drainage. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant mining operations in accordance with RGM safety standards. It focuses on field monitoring, data quality control, analysis, and supporting mine planning activities.

Daily tasks include monitoring and operating dewatering systems such as pumps, pipelines, sumps, and discharge systems. Conduct field inspections to ensure safe work practices and track water levels, inflows, rainfall impacts, and seepage. Maintain accurate operational records and troubleshoot water-related issues.

Work in a dynamic mining environment at remote sites in Brokopondo on a 14/7 rotational schedule. Collaborate on engineering and planning efforts with teams handling groundwater monitoring and surface water management. Support construction oversight, surveys, QA/QC, and well monitoring.

Contribute to short-term and annual dewatering plans, pump sizing, hydraulic calculations, and system optimization. Prepare technical reports and dashboards while assisting in CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, procurement, and drainage infrastructure design. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency.
