About this role

Join AECOM's Environmental Services team as a Dutch speaking Junior Soil & Groundwater Consultant based in Ghent. Work in a dynamic team on projects for international private sector clients involving contaminated soil investigation, remediation, risk assessments, and remedial design. Partner to solve complex environmental challenges and build legacies for future generations.

Perform environmental oversight of remedial works on site, control remediation contractor performance against the remedial action plan, and coordinate field subcontractors. Collect soil and groundwater samples during assessment and remediation activities. Provide daily reporting and regulator reporting for the Flanders region.

Compile and interpret field and analytical data into conceptual site models, undertake desk studies, site investigations, and factual report writing. Ensure health and safety issues are addressed throughout project life. Participate in a young and dynamic team with a strong global safety culture.

Requirements

  • Master or BSc degree in Geology, Geography, Bio Engineering or another technical, environmental or chemical field
  • Fluent Dutch and English language skills both written and verbal
  • Confidence with client communication and customer focus
  • Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills
  • Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work
  • Able to work both independently and in teams
  • Valid driver license for a car
  • Strong commitment to AECOM’s health and safety culture

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental oversight of remedial works on site under project manager supervision
  • Control performance of remediation contractor works with respect to the remedial action plan
  • Coordinate field service subcontractors and supervise ground investigation works
  • Collect soil and groundwater samples and data during assessment and remedial activities
  • Provide daily reporting and regulator reporting of works for Flanders region
  • Coordinate with laboratories for appropriate analysis within project timelines
  • Compile and interpret field and analytical data into conceptual site models
  • Undertake desk studies, site investigations, laboratory procurement, data analysis, and report writing
