About this role
Stantec seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist for a client-facing role supporting growth in groundwater remediation services. This position helps grow the power practice and works with client account managers to expand services geographically. Support local environmental remediation teams and the long-standing regional remediation practice.
Provide project management and technical support for groundwater and soil remediation projects across South and Gulf regions, with primary focus on heavy industrial and power sector clients. Leverage technical skills, industry knowledge, and client relationships to support pursuits, win, and deliver projects. The position location is flexible throughout Stantec’s Gulf and East Regions.
Collaborate with local teams, senior managers, and staff on technical execution of ongoing remediation projects. Engage directly in networking and build brand recognition for technical expertise across sectors including power, municipalities, and industrial clients. Expand site investigation and remediation practices in the South region.
Lead business development activities and identify new opportunities to grow the discipline. Develop market position with clients, agencies, and professionals. Mentor staff, participate in conferences, and grow professional relationships with key Power client stakeholders.
Requirements
- Expertise in groundwater and soil remediation across heavy industrial and power sectors
- Proficiency in conceptual site models, groundwater data interpretation, and remedy selection
- Experience designing field programs including drilling, bedrock logging, soil/groundwater sampling, slug testing, and packer testing
- Knowledge of Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) facilities assessment and remediation
- Strong project management fundamentals including scope, cost, schedule, and quality
- Business acumen for client relationship building and market positioning
- Ability to analyze technical, regulatory, and economic issues in remediation
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and lead business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients
- Develop, maintain, and enhance technical approaches to assessment of remedial measures, remedy selection, and pilot study implementation
- Contribute to preparation of workplans and project deliverables including sampling plans, groundwater data analysis, site assessments, and remedial action plans
- Design and oversee implementation of hydrogeology field programs, including drilling, logging, soil/groundwater sampling, and aquifer testing
- Lead hydrogeologic technical aspects to approach development and project delivery
- Engage in ongoing groundwater assessment, remedy selection, and pilot study execution for programs such as Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) facilities
- Grow professional relationships with stakeholders and decision makers within key Power client accounts
- Provide mentoring and training for staff and participate in conferences
