About this role

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) seeks a Geophysicist at its corporate headquarters in Midland, TX. This role reports to the Asset Geosciences Manager and delivers geophysical support to asset and operations teams across PR’s portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and communication skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.

Perform structural/stratigraphic 3D seismic interpretations from basin to asset level, providing feedback on development planning, drilling operations/geosteering, and completions. Calculate seismic attributes like coherence, acoustic impedance, and spectral decomposition to assist project planning and wellbore execution. Generate post-stack/pre-stack inversions and robust time-depth/depth-depth conversions.

Interpret subsurface geomechanical properties, conduct stress analysis, and support microseismic data acquisition and interpretation. Deliver geophysical interpretations for acquisitions and divestitures while assisting with 3D seismic data acquisition and processing. Monitor induced seismicity trends in the Permian Basin and provide risk-assessment feedback.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contributing expertise-driven guidance. Communicate complex geophysical topics to non-technical audiences in a detail-oriented environment focused on QI/QC and risk quantification. Opportunity to support full-cycle field development and daily operations in the Permian Basin.
