About this role

Oxy produces energy and essential products to sustain and improve life on our planet. As the largest independent oil producer operating in the country, we are committed to safe and efficient operations while reducing our carbon footprint. The Senior Geophysicist provides geophysical support to the Carbonate Team and other teams within Mukhaizna Subsurface as required.

The role involves geophysical interpretation of newly discovered and mature fields within Block 53 to support geological modeling. Responsibilities include seismic attribute analysis, QA/QC of seismic data, and seismic reprocessing projects. Integration of geophysical interpretation with geological understanding is essential.

Work closely with RMT GG in planning each Thuleilat well, including pre- and post-drilling reviews to achieve zero sidetracks. Participate in well drilling activities for structural prediction, hazard identification like faults and stringers, and well plan adjustments. Collaborate with the team to identify optimal pilot hole locations and support geologists in evaluating program oil.

Provide geophysical support to the reserves portfolio and investigate stringers in Thuleilat Field. Coach junior and mid-career geophysicists to achieve project goals and mentor job seekers and summer interns. Join happy, enthusiastic over-achievers for wild growth and unleashed opportunities.
