The Remote Sensing Analyst provides enterprise remote sensing expertise through acquisition, processing, interpretation, and transformation of data from aerial, satellite, and UAS platforms into geospatial intelligence. This supports operational, regulatory, and strategic decision-making.
Plans and executes remote sensing data acquisition efforts, selecting appropriate platforms, sensors, and methods based on business needs. Processes and validates imagery to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. Analyzes multi-source imagery and sensor data, recommending interpretation methodologies aligned with operational objectives.
Develops and maintains department standards, identifies process improvements, and administers data governance programs. Evaluates emerging technologies for drones and acquisition hardware/software, ensuring FAA and safety compliance. Consults with stakeholders to assess data requirements and recommend remote sensing solutions, prioritizing work to meet demands.
Requires expanded professional-level knowledge and experience in remote sensing, continuing to acquire higher-level skills. Solves a range of complex problems using advanced knowledge and protocols. Operates independently with moderate guidance, expanding knowledge of company processes and customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, geomatics, computer science, engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience
- Typically two or more years in related field
- FAA Part 107 certification
- Intermediate knowledge of systems used in department
- Advanced knowledge of processing software, data, and products
- Intermediate knowledge of data classification software and processes
- Working knowledge of drone systems and data acquisition sensors
- Intermediate skills in analysis and problem solving
