About this role

As a Senior GIS Analyst at Onterris, you will assist multiple projects with increasing interaction across multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies, and clients. This role is grounded in purpose, responsibility, and real-world impact, guided by the north star of 'For Planet and Progress'.

Your day-to-day involves creating and editing spatial data, producing mapping products, and performing geospatial analyses in support of our service lines. You will generate and maintain relational geospatial databases, assist in updating mapping standards, and occasionally support field activities as a field second.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline or technical diploma
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of geographic and projected coordinate systems and transformations
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software suite and extensions
  • Proficient with ESRI ArcPro
  • Working knowledge of ESRI Field Maps and Survey 123 data collection services
  • GIS programming experience using Python, Arcade, R, JavaScript, C#, SQL, and related skills
  • Industry experience in the Environmental or Consulting space

Responsibilities

  • Creating and editing spatial data and mapping products
  • Performing junior level geospatial analyses in support of service lines and key areas of work
  • Generating, editing, and maintaining relational geospatial databases
  • Assisting in updating and maintaining mapping standards and work processes
  • Supporting field activities as a field second, workload dependent
  • Developing and maintaining GIS applications and scripts using Python, Arcade, and other programming languages
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior GIS staff
