About this role

Senior Geophysicist specializing in QA/QC for special projects, with specialist knowledge of land and marine seismic acquisition and processing. Requires understanding of current seismic processing algorithms, time and depth imaging, inversion, fracture and amplitude analysis. Proven experience of carbonate reservoirs and proficiency in R5000 software suite essential.

Provide technical monitoring and QA/QC for internal and externally sourced geophysical projects, including seismic processing, reprocessing, amplitude/AVO analysis, depth imaging, and inversion. Act as linkage between subsurface community and external geophysical specialists. Deliver technical expertise and advice to subsurface teams.

Prepare technical specifications and budgets for special projects; actively monitor and manage to satisfy QA/QC, timing, and budgetary requirements. Serve as single point of contact with third-party contractors. Communicate project status and provide regular technical peer reviews internally.

Mentor, train, and advise young geoscientists, engineers, and less experienced staff. Excel in presentation and documentation of project results with customer focus. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of contractors' geophysical capabilities while developing new expertise areas.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Geoscience or Engineering
20 years of work experience in Oil and Gas industry, with at least 15 years conducting geophysical studies/operations
Specialist knowledge of land and marine seismic acquisition and processing
Experience with VSP acquisition and processing
Understanding of current land and marine seismic processing algorithms, time and depth imaging, inversion, and amplitude/AVO analysis
Proven experience in carbonate reservoirs
Proficient in geophysical software applications including R5000, Landmark SeisSpace, Well Seismic Fusion, DecisionSpace, Geoprobe, Hampson Russell
Excellent project management skills, customer focus, and experience mentoring less experienced staff

Responsibilities
