This entry-level role is for physicists, geophysicists or mathematicians looking to develop scientific skills in a commercial environment with real-world impacts.

Our Imaging specialists process huge volumes of seismic data through complex signal processing, modelling and imaging workflows. They generate high-resolution subsurface images and models primarily for clients in the energy industry.

We are a diverse and dynamic group of hundreds of geophysicists based in France, with strong relations with colleagues across UK, Singapore, Brazil, and US. We use the latest signal processing and imaging techniques among the most advanced compute facilities in the world.

You can expect to develop expertise in signal processing, modelling and imaging, and gain awareness of wider developments in geoscience and data science. Later in your career, you will have opportunities to publish papers and present at industry conferences.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD degree in Physics, Geophysics or Mathematics
  • 0-2 years of professional experience
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Technical knowledge in an area of applied mathematics or physics
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards learning and passion for your subject
  • Technical agility to adapt existing knowledge to a new field
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze seismic data to produce accurate 3D subsurface images
  • Test and optimize workflows to improve imaging accuracy, computational performance, and data quality
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through service excellence
  • Manage complex technical projects with multiple short- and long-term deadlines
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and clients
  • Develop cultural awareness through training and interaction with globally diverse clients and teams
  • Later in your career, contribute to the development of others through leadership and management skills
